The cooler weather yesterday, along with Greg's return from a several weeks in Germany, demanded a ride across the Williamsburg bridge into Manhattan. We headed out to pick up lunch and then over to the west side bicycle path for a picnic by the water.
Gregory crossing the Williamsburg Bridge on his Churchill Velorbis. If you look closely, you may notice he's wearing the t-shirt from Obama's event in Berlin. I hear that he shook his hand that day...
Picking up the best Israeli Hummus in NYC. Usually we go to the EV location, but this was on the way - I usually suggest avoiding McDougal street unless you're getting in and out quickly... It looks much 'cuter' than it really is, especially when the locusts return to NYU in the fall.
The west side park - cyclists, walkers, runners, sunners - all out enjoying the respite from humidity.
It was a sunny day. Even in New Jersey.
One of Eliason's waterfalls that doesn't suceed. I really like his work, but I think the big flaw in these pieces is the scaffolding taking up so much more visual weight than the water. Some of them work better than others.
One that does.
The sun set on Manhattan during the ride home.
I love the Williamsburg Bridge. And every time I'm pedaling up the incline, I thank Odin that Sleipnir has eight legs...
