My Vegan Churchill and Jennifer's Omnivorous Victoria have a date this Saturday morning. We'll be biking over to McCarren park to pick up our share of the organic crops from Garden of Eve Farm (which is on the other end of this very long island we live on).
We've contributed to the farm in exchange for a season's share of the organic vegetables, fruits and flowers that they grow. Our first share is this weekend, and our last will be at Thanksgiving.
I just got an email from CSA letting us know what we'll be picking up tomorrow!
- 1 head Red Lettuce
- 1 head Green Lettuce
- 1 bunch Radishes
- 1 bag Arugula
- 1 bag Mesclun Lettuce
- 2 baby Leeks
- 1 bunch Asparagus
- 2 quarts strawberries
- a bouquet of Teddy bear Sunflowers with Snapdragons, Rye, and Oats

Sounds like a perfect Saturday morning. CSA's are great and so are your bikes.
Its 7/10ths of a mile. It sounds like its well worth the ride to the other side of the island. While I'm at it, I enjoy your blog but cannot stand it's title. Drunk and in charge of a bicycle sends the wrong message. Sorry.
