I've been waiting to make this into it's own post - I'm so excited about this part. So, what should I name him? I'm so excited to hear the ideas from all the imaginative people out there.
Here are the suggestions that I've got so far. Leave yours in the comments and I'll add it here!

Wicked cool! Name him Zakka! :-) - not only 'cause it's my nickname... See here
Or København... which is the Danish name for Copenhagen... pronounced Kooben-hown - or Koobenhoowna - Copenhagener.
Or maybe The Bronck - after Jonas Bronck, the Dane for whom the Bronx is named.

congratulations on your decision. i cannot wait to see [insert name here] and you together.
one of churchill's nicknames was cigarface ... sounds tough enough for brooklyn.

I propose the name of Odin's eight legged horse "Sleipnir".

I like Steven - so unexpected and unpretentious. But I know Sleipnir will win the day.

Michael - considering your blog's name - I'm going to suggest 'Jackie D' as your bike's name - of course his full given name would be Jack Daniels - and of course he would deserve a proper christening someplace along the Brooklyn waterfront - probably near the QM2 dock to make Winston proud of his namesake - of course 'Winston' is another highly suitable name

PS: My bike's name is Jeffrey. And yours totally looks like a "Pete".

"almafuerte" my nickname could be good, it means strong soul in spanish. And it was the nickname of a very important poet here in Argentina.

I love the sign in the back. That is priceless. Nice bike too!
Thanks Jillian - the sign is on the Manhattan side of the Williamsburg Bridge. As soon as I saw it, I wanted a photo of me and my new bike with it.
Just got off the phone with Dan from Boston - my Chruchill Classic is on the next van to NYC next week - looking forward to it - glad to hear it was a great ride last night
William - congratulations! Excellent news... The Classic is an amazing bike - personally I'm in love with my Vegan version.
Keep us updated on your proces - send me photos, stories, etc and I'll post them.
Hope to see you out there!
Choosing just the right name is very important. Last summer, I wheeled my bicycle into my local repair shop and announced I was there for a tune-up. The repair dude looked at me and asked, "And what's its name?" I was preparing my huffy indignation, like what was it about me that said "this girl's bike has a name"? Then...I sighed and admitted whatever it was, he'd pegged me dead-right. Of *course* my bike has a name...
Jillian - the name is everything - so what IS your bikes name?
And what do you suggest for mine?
Michael - considering your blog's name - I'm going to suggest 'Jackie D' as your bike's name - of course his full given name would be Jack Daniels - and of course he would deserve a proper christening someplace along the Brooklyn waterfront - probably near the QM2 dock to make Winston proud of his namesake - of course 'Winston' is another highly suitable name
William - JD by the QM2 - and Winston. I love it. Great!
Michael - if 'Winston' sticks as his name - or even if not - let your friend know who is getting her bike next week (her bike is riding down with mine from Boston) - that 'Clementine' was the name of Winston's wife - and well 'Clementine' might be a great name for her bike :)
William - WOW. Clementine - that's amazing. I'll send her this thread...
PS: My bike's name is Jeffrey. And yours totally looks like a "Pete".
Michael - Clementine of course deserves a proper christening, too - maybe a shared christening with Winston - but for Clementine stick with Tanqueray rather than JD - Clementine was known for knocking-back a gin or two or ten now and again :)
Michael - now we move on to naming your friend's Churchill Balloon 'Pimped-Up' bike - ready? - 'Franklin' - Winston and Franklin were best friends - and according to what I've read would spent a lot of time getting drunk together - so they each couldn't have been more 'drunk and in charge' :)
"almafuerte" my nickname could be good, it means strong soul in spanish. And it was the nickname of a very important poet here in Argentina.

Amanda - Pete is a nice solid name. Maybe I could europeanize it and go with Petr or...?
José - I like that! almafuerte... that could even be a last name... Of course, you know a bike can have a first middle and last name, right?
: )
I fully support names without "overthinking"...which surely is not to insult the other very fine, more intellectual suggestions your friends have put forth! Some of them are fantastic too! But for me, the winning name is always the one that just rolls off the tongue, with maximum character and minimum explanation. Petr would be a fabulous name for your bicyclette!
